<channel><title><![CDATA[Support For a D-1 College Football Playoff... - Blog]]></title><link><![CDATA[http://www.supportaplayoff.com/index.html]]></link><description><![CDATA[Blog]]></description><pubDate>Sat, 07 May 2011 10:00:02 -0700</pubDate><generator>Weebly</generator><item><title><![CDATA[Time to just put the question to the NCAA]]></title><link><![CDATA[http://www.supportaplayoff.com/2/post/2011/05/first-post.html]]></link><comments><![CDATA[http://www.supportaplayoff.com/2/post/2011/05/first-post.html#comments]]></comments><pubDate>Wed, 04 May 2011 01:00:00 -0700</pubDate><category><![CDATA[Uncategorized]]></category><guid isPermaLink="false">http://www.supportaplayoff.com/2/post/2011/05/first-post.html</guid><description><![CDATA[I just finished Dan Wetzel's book, Death to the BCS.&nbsp; If you haven't read it and you consider yourself pro-playoff and anti-BCS, go buy it and read it right now.&nbsp; Seriously, it's that good.&nbsp; Everything that is corrupt abou [...] ]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<div  class="paragraph editable-text" style=" text-align: left; ">I just finished Dan Wetzel's book, <a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);" title="" target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/Death-BCS-Definitive-Against-Championship/dp/1592405703/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1304573034&amp;sr=8-1">Death to the BCS</a>.&nbsp; If you haven't read it and you consider yourself pro-playoff and anti-BCS, go buy it and read it right now.&nbsp; Seriously, it's that good.&nbsp; Everything that is corrupt about the BCS is brought to light in there in great detail.&nbsp; Tax records, bowl revenues, under-the-table deals, it's all in there.&nbsp; And it fuels your anti-BCS fire.&nbsp; It is fantastic.<br /><br /><span>One thing that the book points out early is this tidbit that I didn't realize before: The NCAA has absolutely no official tie to the BCS.&nbsp; They simply allow the BCS to do what they do, but there is no official NCAA sanction.&nbsp; This got me thinking.&nbsp; Obviously there is no getting through to the BCS tards.&nbsp; They have their BS reasons for not having a playoff down pat, and they are clearly beyond reason.</span>&nbsp; But what about the NCAA leadership?&nbsp; It seems to me that if the NCAA wanted a playoff they could just implement one.&nbsp; Why isn't the pro-playoff community putting pressure on the NCAA instead of the BCS?&nbsp; The BCS won't change -- they're clearly delusional.&nbsp; But maybe maybe in the end it will be the NCAA president who decides to side with popular opinion and make the change to a playoff.<br /><br /><span>So I was excited to see <a title="" target="_blank" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6479279"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);">this article</span> </a>at ESPN today.</span>&nbsp; In a letter on it's way to the NCAA, apparently the Justice Department is asking Mark Emmert directly, why there is no playoff for D-1 College Football.&nbsp; Mark is the NCAA President.&nbsp; This is awesome, let's see what he says!&nbsp; And I am happy to hear the Justice Department is looking into the issue seriously.&nbsp; I can't wait to see what the official response is.&nbsp; Has Mark been brainwashed too?&nbsp; We shall see.<br /></div>  ]]></content:encoded></item></channel></rss>
